Improving Diversity & Healthcare Simultaneously

Underserved communities in southern Alabama need a more diverse & skilled workforce. We’re here to help that happen.

Promoting the Quality & Diversity of Healthcare for Underserved Communities in West-Central AL

For Alabamians in the West-Central region of the state, equal access to quality healthcare and equal representation within the healthcare system translates to equal opportunity across a lifetime. To empower communities by supporting and educating the healthcare workers that treat them, AHEC devotes time, money, resources, and recruitment for underserved populations throughout Alabama.

Established as a community-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the West Central Alabama Area Health Education Center (WCAAHEC) is located in Demopolis, Alabama, and focuses on impacting the lives of vulnerable populations in the communities it serves.
